The park was named after resident and World War II veteran William B. Howard. William served in the United States Army and was honored by Lee’s Summit community for his actions and devotion to duty. The park was dedicated to him in October 2010 and has since become an integral part of the community. William B. Howard Station Park covers 7.5 acres and is ADA-accessible. It features plenty of open grassy areas for visitors to relax and enjoy the scenery and several sports fields and courts. Musgrave Soccer Field and the Musgrave Baseball Diamond are great places to enjoy a game of soccer or a pickup game of baseball on a warm day. There are also four tennis courts available. The park also provides wonderful opportunities to stay active and explore the outdoors. There's a half-mile walking trail and an activities-filled playground perfect for children. There's even a splash pad to cool off on hot days. The park also features a large pavilion and an outdoor amphitheater, often used for outdoor events and concerts. This beautiful outdoor destination also hosts various special events, such as movies in the park, family-friendly activities, and more.
